Set up a workflow
What an agent needs to build an inactive workflow from the product's real events.
This page builds one workflow and leaves it off. It does not start a run. The email a send step uses is Draft a campaign, and that campaign needs a verified domain from Set up Email Marketing.
1. Use the Saasco MCP
If Saasco is not connected, read https://www.saasco.com/docs/mcp.mdx and follow the steps for this client. Sign in, allowing "Create and change data in your projects". Search with saasco_search_tools, then run the tool with saasco_execute_tool.
Pass project id YOUR-PROJECT-ID. On a connection scoped with ?projectId=, omit projectId.
2. One inactive workflow
Ask what to automate. Use an event this repo actually tracks, such as Signed Up. Call workflows_listWorkflows first so you do not duplicate it.
Call workflows_createWorkflow with status INACTIVE, that trigger event, and the audience filters they asked for. Creating it does not start a run.
3. Steps and edges
Add steps with workflows_createWorkflowStep. actionId is delay, sendCampaign, or audienceFilter. Put the step's fields on data.inputFields as { id, value } rows:
delay:amount(number) andunit(minutes,hours, ordays)sendCampaign:campaignIdof a draft campaignaudienceFilter:contactsFilterGroup
Connect them with workflows_createWorkflowEdge. type is custom. source and target are step ids. The step with no incoming edge from another step is the start.
Call workflows_verifyWorkflowConfig. Leave the workflow INACTIVE until they say to turn it on. Do not call workflows_takeNextStep, workflows_processWorkflowRuns, or workflows_createWorkflowRun.
