# Skills for agents

[Agent skills](https://agentskills.io/home) give AI coding agents reusable guidance for building Saasco integrations. Saasco-maintained skills provide the newest product and API guidance based on the latest recommended practices.

## Set up the skills and MCP (recommended)

Skills tell an agent what to do. The [Saasco MCP](/docs/mcp) server is how it does that in your projects: creating contacts, verifying domains, drafting campaigns. Every skill except SDK setup and DNS uses it. [Agent setup](/docs/agent-setup) installs both:

```text
Fetch and execute the instructions to set me up for Saasco from https://www.saasco.com/agent-setup/prompt.md
```

The agent installs the skills and adds the MCP server to its own client, and no other. You sign in to Saasco in the browser the first time it connects. There is no API key.

If you install only the skills, a skill that needs the MCP sends your agent to the same instructions first.

## Install only the skills

```bash
npx skills add https://www.saasco.com
```

> Manually installed skills don't auto-update. Run `npx skills update -y` to get the latest versions.

## Skills index

See the [index of Saasco skills](https://www.saasco.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json).

If `npx skills` isn't available: You can use curl to fetch the index of available skills, what they do, and their files from `https://www.saasco.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json`. To download a skill, use curl to download it from `https://www.saasco.com/.well-known/agent-skills/<name>/SKILL.md`.
