# Delete Attribute

DELETE /api/v2/projects/{projectId}/crm/attributes/{attributeDistinctId}

Removes an attribute from every contact in the project, deleting that property's stored values. Runs as a background job. The response contains job handles rather than a finished result, so the attribute keeps appearing in queries until the job completes. Anything filtering on it, such as a dynamic list, will stop matching. Cannot be undone.

## Request

- projectId: string, path, required — ID of the project that owns the attribute.
- attributeDistinctId: string, path, required — Distinct ID of the attribute to delete.

- 200: Successful response
- 400: Invalid input data
- 401: Authorization not provided
- 403: Insufficient access
- 404: Not found
- 500: Internal server error
